IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING
This exciting new CD features a truly international group of jazz greats, co-led by two good friends: the American trombonist Dan Barrett, and his amigo, tenor saxophonist Enric Peidro. Dan is known for his jazz party appearances around the USA and Europe, and his many performances and recordings with like- minded swinging players including: Scott Hamilton, Rebecca Kilgore, and Doc Cheatham; and the last bands led by Benny Goodman and Buck Clayton.

Enric Peidro is one of the most revered musicians on the traditional jazz scene in Spain. His made-for-dancing sax playing makes him a popular performer in the “swing dance” world, as well. The rest of this cosmopolitan quintet represent no less than three other countries.

Richard Busiakiewicz (pron. Bush-ah-KEV-ich) is from England, and has played his hip, sophisticated brand of piano for Enric for many years.

Bassist Nicki Parrott (who is also a fine singer) now lives in the USA, but hails from Australia. She is in demand all over the world for her strong, rhythmic playing and her artful solo work.

German drummer Michael Keul is a well-know figure not only in Germany but all over Europe, where his solid, always-swingin' drumming is greatly appreciated.Over his career he has played, among many others with jazz greats like Houston Person, Red Holloway, Scott Hamilton etc

In addition to Dan’s original title number, this album offers a variety of great American popular songs from an earlier era, cast in intriguing arrangements by Dan. You’re sure to love it, whether you dance to it, or just kick back and “dig” it!
